The standard XCD is an Ex d gas detector engineered for Zone 1 environments, available in three models: flammable, oxygen, and toxic gas detection. Each unit comes with a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge, fully tested and calibrated for immediate installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are offered separately. The detector is configured and controlled using a magnet, avoiding the need to open the device. Its tri-colour backlit display offers an immediate visual indication of the detector’s status for easy monitoring.

The XCD offers a catalytic sensor for detecting flammable gases between 0 and 100% LEL. Infrared (IR) sensor options are available for methane detection within the same range, as well as for propane, with noted cross-sensitivities to ethylene and butane, and for Carbon Dioxide (CO2). These sensors complement the flammable gas transmitter version. Electrochemical (EC) sensors detect oxygen and toxic gases, including Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Hydrogen (H2).

Each detector arrives complete with the following:

• hex keys

All transmitters are also available with a Modbus interface as an option.
