The standard XCD is an Ex d gas detector designed for Zone 1 environments, offered in three variants: flammable, oxygen, and toxic. It comes equipped with a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge that is fully tested and calibrated, ensuring it is ready for immediate installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are also available. The unit is configured and controlled using a magnet, avoiding the need to open the enclosure, while the tri-colour backlit display offers instant visual indication of the detector's status.

The XCD catalytic sensor detects flammable gases within a 0 to 100% LEL range, while the infrared (IR) sensor variants are designed to monitor methane over the same range, propane, including sensitivities to ethylene and butane, and carbon dioxide (CO2). Both sensor types function alongside the flammable transmitter model. Electrochemical cell (EC) sensors are available to detect oxygen and several toxic gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and hydrogen (H2).

Each detector contains:

All transmitters are also available with a Modbus interface as an option.
