Available in three different versions, flammable, oxygen, and toxic, the standard XCD is an Ex d gas detector that can be used in Zone 1 environments. Each is supplied with a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge and fully tested and calibrated, ready for installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are available. The unit is configured and controlled via a magnet, eliminating the need to open it, while the tri-colour backlit display offers immediate visual status updates of the detector.

The XCD catalytic sensor is capable of detecting flammable gases within a 0 to 100% LEL range. Infrared (IR) sensor options are available for sensing methane (0 to 100% LEL), propane with noted cross-sensitivities to ethylene and butane, and carbon dioxide (CO2). Both sensor types are integrated with the flammable transmitter variant. The electrochemical cell (EC) sensors are available for the detection of oxygen and toxic gases: Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Hydrogen (H2).

All transmitters are also available with a Modbus interface as an option.
