The standard XCD gas detector is engineered with Ex d certification for safe operation in Zone 1 hazardous areas. Available in three distinct configurations: flammable, oxygen, and toxic gas detection. It features a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge. Each unit is rigorously tested and precisely calibrated to ensure reliable performance and is delivered ready for immediate installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are available. Configuration and control of the unit is achieved through the use of a magnet, removing the need to open the unit. Its tri-colour backlit display provides instant indication of the detector status at a glance.

The XCD catalytic sensor is designed to detect flammable gases from 0 to 100% LEL, whereas infrared (IR) sensor variants are specifically engineered to detect methane within the same range, propane (exhibiting cross-sensitivity to ethylene and butane), and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Both sensors are used in conjunction with the flammable version of the transmitter. The electrochemical cell (EC) sensors are available for the detection of oxygen and toxic gases: Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Hydrogen (H2).
