The standard XCD is an Ex d rated gas detector designed for Zone 1 environments, available in three variants: flammable, oxygen, and toxic. Each unit is delivered with a stainless steel sensor cartridge already installed, thoroughly tested, and calibrated for immediate deployment. Replacement sensor cartridges are accessible as needed. The detector’s configuration and control are managed via a magnet, which eliminates the necessity to open the device, while its tri-colour backlit display offers immediate, clear status indication.

The XCD features a catalytic sensor capable of detecting flammable gases within a 0 to 100% LEL range. Infrared (IR) sensor variants offer detection of methane (0 to 100% LEL), propane (including cross-sensitivities to ethylene and butane), and carbon dioxide (CO2), both integrated with the flammable transmitter model. Additionally, electrochemical cell (EC) sensors are available for measuring oxygen and toxic gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and hydrogen (H2).
