The standard XCD is an Ex d-certified gas detector designed for Zone 1 hazardous areas, offered in three variants: flammable, oxygen, and toxic gas detection. It comes equipped with a stainless steel sensor cartridge pre-installed, fully tested, and calibrated for immediate installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are also available. The unit’s configuration and control are managed via a magnet, eliminating the need to open the enclosure. A tri-colour backlit display provides clear, real-time status updates, ensuring quick and easy monitoring.

The XCD features a catalytic sensor capable of detecting flammable gases within a 0 to 100% LEL range. Infrared (IR) sensor variants detect methane and propane with cross-sensitivity to ethylene and butane, and carbon dioxide across the same measurement scope. Both sensor types work alongside the flammable gas transmitter. Additionally, electrochemical (EC) sensors are available to monitor oxygen and toxic gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen dioxide, and hydrogen, offering a broad spectrum of gas detection options.
