The standard XCD Ex d gas detector is designed for use in Zone 1 environments and comes in three versions: flammable, oxygen, and toxic. Each unit is equipped with a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge that is fully tested and calibrated, ensuring it is ready for immediate installation. Replacement sensor cartridges are available for ease of maintenance. Configuration and control are achieved via a magnetic interface, eliminating the need to open the device. A tri-colour backlit display provides clear, instantaneous indication of the detector’s status for streamlined monitoring.

The XCD catalytic sensor detects flammable gases within a 0 to 100% LEL range, while infrared (IR) sensor variants identify methane (0 to 100% LEL), propane (with cross-sensitivity to ethylene and butane), and carbon dioxide (CO2). These sensors are paired with the flammable transmitter model. Electrochemical cell (EC) sensors are offered for monitoring oxygen and toxic gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and hydrogen (H2).
