The standard XCD is a robust Ex d gas detector designed for Zone 1 environments, available in flammable, oxygen, and toxic versions. It comes with a pre-installed stainless steel sensor cartridge that is fully tested and calibrated, making it installation-ready. Replacement sensor cartridges ensure long-term reliability. The unit can be easily configured and operated using a magnet, eliminating the need to open the device. Its tri-colour backlit display offers immediate and clear status updates, helping maintain safety with confidence and ease.

The XCD catalytic sensor can be used to detect flammable gases in the range 0 to 100%LEL, while the infrared (IR) sensor versions are available for the detection of methane in the range 0 to 100%LEL, propane (with cross-sensitivities to ethylene and butane), and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). The flammable transmitter version is used in connection with both sensors. Toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and hydrogen (H2), can be detected using electrochemical cell (EC) sensors.
