These particular products include an airline trolley, a set of pneumatics and a hose reel. The trolley hose reel is equipped with a winding handle to allow the hose to be easily re-wound onto the reel after use.
The Dräger PAS AirPack 2 has been designed using leading technology and materials, making this heavy duty airline breathing apparatus ideal for use in situations where an extended duration of breathing air is needed. It gives users confidence that chemical tank cleaning tasks or toxic spillages are all made easier and more comfortable when using the unit.
Increased Freedom of Movement
The trolley-mounted cylinder(s) provide uninterrupted air supply to the wearer via a hose reel. The PAS Airpack 2 can be relocated easily and positioned in a safe zone which is in close proximity to the working area. The user only needs to wear a lightweight harness such as Dräger's PAS Colt, during operation. This benefits the user as they are granted more movement and less stress and fatigue than they would be subjected to if they were wearing a conventional self-contained breathing air apparatus unit.
A Well Thought Out System
One or two compressed air cylinders of up to 50 litres in capacity can be accommodated by the Dräger PAS AirPack 2 which is constructed from an anti-static powder, coated steel material. A fully approved lifting eye can be supplied with the unit, enabling a safe transfer when elevated working areas may be unavoidable. The rear wheel of the trolley also incorporates a simple foot brake, which prevents any inadvertent movement during operation. This comes available with either one or two pressure reducers or two hose reels allowing joint use of the system or for two completely independent systems to run concurrently.
As standard, a 50m length of hose is supplied with Dräger's airline breathing apparatus which can also be extended to a length of 100m with a range of extension hoses. The trolley hose reel connector is protected with a cover to minimise any accidental damage being caused. A winding handle is used so the hose to be easily re-wound onto the reel after use. Outgoing hose distribution is also controlled with a braking system to ensure unnecessary unwinding and entanglement doesn€„¢t occur.
Pneumatics
The PAS AirPack 2 benefits from a popular tried and tested pneumatics system which is also used on Dräger's PSS range of compressed breathing air apparatus. This system incorporates a safety pressure relief valve with the pressure reducer masked in a protective plate for additional safety.
The following pneumatic elements are incorporated into the Dräger PAS AirPack 2: a pressure reducer suitable for connecting breathable quality air at an input pressure of either 200 or 300 bar or for supplying breathable quality air at an outlet medium pressure of 8 bar nominal (6 to 10 bar) and vent valves which allow for independent charging of an independent cylinder. Other features are a high pressure gauge which indicates cylinder pressure or a medium pressure gauge which indicates a cascade system or ring main pressure.
Safety Features
The Dräger PAS AirPack 2 has safety features such as a pressure relief valve to relieve medium pressure from air hoses and a whistle warning unit of high or medium pressure. The high pressure unit indicated cylinder pressure to a volume of approximately 55 bar and the medium pressure unit can be used with an independent airline source and indicates cascade system or ring main pressure at approximately 4.5 bar.
