What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage daily finance activities including AP, AR, credit control, bank reconciliations, and VAT submissions.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and liaise with external accountants.
  • Take a proactive role in managing records and ensuring compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role with substantial practical knowledge.
  • Strong experience with accounting software.
  • Possesses a natural talent for numbers and data analysis, with the ability to interpret financial data and help drive informed, strategic decisions.
  • Excellent Excel skills and IT literacy (MS Outlook, Word etc).
  • Ability to work independently, organise multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Well-honed problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable, and confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Extras:

  • Knowledge of international trade (FX, banking).
  • Experience with dual jurisdiction VAT returns (GB & ROI) and inter-company trading.
  • Background working in industrial or safety sectors is an advantage.

 Dependent on experience (DOE).

To continue and enhance our growth we are seeking a seasoned Finance Manager with in-depth financial knowledge, strong analytical skills, IT proficiency, and excellent communication abilities.

Our Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the business, guiding financial decisions, and ensuring compliance.

As Finance Manager, you will manage the day-to-day functions of the finance department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, production of KPI reports and monthly and year-end management accounts. You will be the line manager for the accounts team, this includes setting performance goals, providing guidance and support to staff members, and resolving any issues that arise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial activities, implementing financial strategies, and providing insightful analysis for data-based decisions.



  • Have a hands-on approach to the day-to-day aspects of the finance function
  • Directly handle the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Credit control including monthly aged debt analysis
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns including MTD
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts, including KPI reporting and detailed commentary to explain key trends, for review by the Senior Management Team
  • Produce regular reports for analysis at Management meetings, including monthly analysis of actual and vs budget per department
  • Work to optimise financial performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Produce the annual budget for the business
  • Produce year end Accounts and liaise with External Accountants to ensure filing of Statutory Accounts and Statements
  • Manage Cash Flow of the business including accurate Cash Flow forecasting
  • Management and posting of month end accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register and making the required postings to the finance system on a regular basis
  • Review of the balance reconciliation at month end and timely resolution of any errors.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Lead and motivate the finance team
  • Ad-hoc finance duties
  • Participate as an active member of the wider ISS Team
  • Ensure all data and information relating to areas of work are managed and maintained in line with data protection regulations (GDPR) and ISS protocol
  • Educated to Level 5/6 in Accounting Practices (or working towards) OR demonstrate significant knowledge in accounting, governance, and financial reporting
  • Strong financial accounting experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of MTD
  • Experience using an accounting software
  • SAP B1 experience is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in planning and organising several projects, prioritising and scheduling tasks to cope with conflicting demands and deadlines, paying attention to detail and managing records effectively
  • Excellent level of IT literacy with demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office
  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently in a pro-active manner with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective planning, prioritising and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure, to agreed timescales and within delivery standards
  • Flexible, adaptable and responsive to changing duties and working practices
  • Experience of working in a team environment to achieve common goals
  • Must have confidence in dealing with a wide range of professional takeholders both internally and externally
